Playtest Reports

playtest3

Team 5 - Wheel-A-Way! playtesting with Studio 2 (SKYEASE VR) on April 18, 2026 at VisLab

Briefly describe the current state of your product / website.

The website is pretty mature at this point in the development cycle. All we do now is add new contents such as milestones and playtest reports, It has all the checks the project assignment requires, we just need to update a few images and small texts. The product itself is looking much better than last week. It’s way more polished. There’s new experiences (levels) and existing experiences have been made more seamless and lively with voicelines. We’ve also fixed up some bugs that we spotted in the last playtest. The game ending just needs some more love and the first level’s stairs allow users to get up even without the plank currently. So hopefully we get it fixed by demo. Else, hopefully nobody discovers that “feature”.

Describe what you hope to see during this playtest.

We hope to see as few complaints as possible. We don’t have that many days to refine the product so hopefully the experience is just as seamless as we think it is as developers. But also if there’s something we’re overlooking, hopefully those are brought to our attention through this playtest and we can iron out those last few rough edges easily enough.

After they playtest our product…

Describe how the playtest proceeded. What did the users do?

The users first checked out our website, they were pretty impressed with the website and liked the transparency theme we had going. Then they started playing the game. They needed some information from us which was definitely an issue.

Was the product / website's purpose intuitive? Did users appear confused at any point?

The product and website were intuitive, but the users were confused about the movement sometimes, and there were a few issues. I think they said the experience needed a bit more narrative to explain to them what to do and where to go at times. Especially at the end.

What kind of things did the users say while interacting?

They said that it was definitely frustrating and served its purpose of building empathy for those in wheelchairs, however, they also said that the experience was a bit nauseating which is to be expected due to this sort of continuous movement within a VR environment and experience. They thought that it was a cool experience and very well designed, with no lag which was impressive.

In its current state, in what ways (big or small) is the product / website succeeding?

I think that the current product is pretty polished, I think that the website is pretty nice and that the game itself has a lot of good interactions, narrative, and voice lines. The movement is also a really cool part of our product and design.

In its current state, in what ways (big or small) is the product / website falling short?

There are a few small issues specifically with the movement being able to be held down, we need to make it have some sort of a delay and force a specific timer on the holding of the movement. We also need to make the movement maybe a little bit quicker? They seemed to have difficulty moving quickly around the spaces. Beyond that, there are only a few small issues which we need to fix like the stairs being able to go over, the garage door, and the passport not being visible. Similarly, there are some small issues with the narrative not showing up or not being visible after you finish the game.

In what areas will you invest your time this week?

This week and the next few days, we need to specifically polish the movement, fix the staircase, and fix up some of the narrative and direction of the game. Beyond that, we are almost finished and feel really good about our product.

After we playtest their product…

Describe the other team's product / website.

Studio 2’s product is an exposure therapy product which will allow users to overcome their fear of flying. Not everyone is comfortable with flying and some people NEED to fly for their jobs. Their website looked very professional and similarly, their design is very professional. I think that it looks very realistic for the idea and the landscape is insanely big.

Do you think this product / website addresses the five criteria for P3 success?

This product is definitely sophisticated, they have a lot of different options and different interactions. This is a very good simulator for flying and I think that this is pretty impressive. I think this is very novel, I would have never thought of this idea and I think that it’s very unique. I have flown a few times and so I don’t often think about having a fear of flying, but I do remember being scared of flying before I ever went on a plane and can completely understand how someone could have this fear which is also how it relates to the social impact of helping others psychologically overcome their fears. Without VR it would be very difficult for you to get an experience of flying without actually going on a plane, this is a good and cost effective way to get over the fear of flying. This seems very financially sustainable because of the fact that you can market it to therapy centers and also for personal use, if someone is scared of flying this would be very useful of helping them get over that fear and could definitely be marketed heavily.
